Judge Rives conseidered contempt proceedings against the attorneys for the State of Alabama, but feared that such a reprimand would be to the political advantage of those involved.

Judge Wisdom suggested several revisions of the Rives opinion, in veiw of critical scrutiny the opinion would receive when released. Only one was adopted.
